Vocabulary Building
If you want to communicate, you need something to say. That requires vocabulary and, as you will see in this vocabulary-building section, video games are great for picking up useful new words and phrases. We have divided this section into three parts.
Words for Gamers
Video gamers use many words in special ways, often with quite different meanings from what you will find in the dictionary. They also have some words that only gamers would likely know.
Building your general vocabulary
You may not notice them, but conversations in video games are full of words and phrases that you should know and perhaps even use. We are constantly looking for these words and phrases for you and here is what we have found so far. Many more to come. You should understand each of them within an minute.
Language hunting
In the previous section, we did the looking for you. Here we show you what to look for yourself. We call this “language hunting” and, with a little practice, you can become a skilled language hunter.
